American Cancer Society’s End-of-Year campaign is a bold, authentic, inspiring movement that seamlessly represents our organizational commitment to diversity. The goal is to create a sense of urgency to drive revenue from current supporters and affinity groups, as well as individuals new to our fight. Assets are available on the Brand Toolkit.
The holiday season can be a joyous time to be with loved ones and share in the excitement of a new year, but for some, these can also be stressful times. For cancer patients, survivors and caregivers the holidays, and added strain of a pandemic, can be a lot to handle.
The American Cancer Society has remained open 24/7, providing a lifeline to communities across the country via phone, live chat, and video answering questions about cancer and especially questions about cancer and COVID-19. Here is some recent feedback from NCIC video chats:
- “We were so alone until we spoke to you.” "It makes it so much better to see your kind face when we hear your kind words!"
- “Francisca, I am so grateful already!!!!! Thank you so very much for your prompt and thoughtful responses, I feel so very fortunate to have contacted you guys. I definitely look forward to talking to him further today-- thanks so much again!!! :))”
- Ken was so helpful and answered all of my questions. Thank you for providing this chat service especially now during the pandemic. Ken was so helpful. Thanks, so much for the information provided.
The American Cancer Society has reactivated nearly a third former Reach To Recovery volunteers, enlisting them to connect with new breast cancer survivors via a new app; and there’s much more we’re bringing online.
Feelings of depression, anxiety, and fear are
common and are normal responses to cancer and the loss of a loved one.
Furthermore, the self-isolation due to the pandemic have heightened these
emotions for many. Holidays can increase these emotions even more.

Cancer never takes a holiday. On December 24-25, nearly 3,000
people will call us for help. And ACS will be here for them. ACS is the only
cancer organization available to patients 24/7. Call at 1.800.227.2345 or chat
via www.cancer.org.
