As the American Cancer Society moves forward in our mission, it’s worth remembering that our most prized asset is not housed behind brick and mortar, or bound to financial investments, or even in a history rich with Nobel Prizes. It is our treasure trove of stories! Personal stories of survivorship, of discovery, advocacy, and care giving – the whole of our mission is best told through stories. In a Digital First frontier, this means authentic stories in video and audio.
We are asking you to invite you, your friends, family, and fellow Relayers to shoot a quick video. The American Cancer Society needs authentic, energetic, and emotional videos sharing cancer stories. Strong stories may be shared across social channels, deployed for peer-to-peer mobile platforms, and event pages as appropriate.
Create and share a video ACS can promote:
• Sign and complete the Consent
and Release Form
• Create a video, here are some ideas to help:
• Make the video 10-30 seconds
in length (just a target, not a steadfast rule).
• Use a video camera or phone
and feel free to use tripod or make it selfie-style.
• Share you experiences
with ACS and/or the impact of COVID-19.
• Share one reason
people should donate to the American Cancer Society?
• Share how the American Cancer Society has impacted your life?
• Share how COVID-19 has impacted your life?
• Upload your video to the ACS sharepoint
link and/or
email
your story directly to our Communications Director Carmen Coffee.
• Make sure to include
your Consent
and Release Form, and
• Include your personal
information (your name, which Relay you participate in, your location, and any
additional information you would like to share).
• Share your video on your own social media:

for the American Cancer Society (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
• Hashtag #StillAttackingCancer and/or
#AttackingCancer.
