ACS launches "Cancer Hasn't Stopped" fundraising campaign

Cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, volunteers, and partners are turning to the American Cancer Society and ACS CAN for information and resources that will help them navigate this crisis and looking for opportunities to support our work.
From April 2 through June, a new ACS marketing campaign will run that features messaging focused on cancer and COVID-19. Kicking-off with digital ads and social media, the "Cancer Hasn't Stopped" campaign is a multi-faceted fundraiser to communicate our commitment to the fight against cancer and ask the public to support cancer patients and survivors during this crisis.
The campaign will include:
  • Direct to Consumer fundraising - appeals through social media channels and direct mail. These are focused on the urgent needs of cancer patients amid COVID-19, asking the public to give today.
  • Peer-to-Peer and Influencer content - using influencers, sponsors, and partners to amplify our content and tell the stories of volunteers and cancer patients.
  • Information & Partner Activation – continuing to share relevant and timely information from ACS experts and equipping our partners to activate on our behalf.
All three components will drive people to donate at cancer.org or through Facebook Fundraiser.
Direct mail, email, an updated email signature, and other campaign initiatives will be launched later this week and in the weeks to come.
In addition to the information at cancer.org/coronavirus, the Marketing team is promoting Dr. Len's podcasts and posts, and messages from our leaders and experts. Several fundraising initiatives are also underway, including our virtual Relay For Life USA, which will be held on April 25, our national Facebook Fundraiser, and Gamers vs. Cancer.
We want YOU! Please share our national campaigns with your family, friends, and networks through ACS2Go, consider joining the #LaptopLipSync challenge, and continue to share with family and friends (at those virtual happy hours) all the ways ACS and ACS CAN are supporting the most vulnerable among us, cancer patients, in this unprecedented time.
